Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu commenced the new academic session 2018-19 with a plantation drive in the campus. At the outset, Dr. Neetu Kumari, incharge Department of Commerce, Udhampur Campus congratulated all the students to be a part of such a campus which is situated between the lush green surroundings. The campus organised a plantation drive where students and faculty members of both commerce and economics department participated to make their surroundings green. The students were motivated to grow more and more trees in the campus and become Green ambassadors of their campus who would spread awareness regarding conservation of plants to keep their environment clean and healthy to lead a better life. Students raised slogans regarding different environmental issues and also carried out a healthy discussion on the importance of clean and green environment and various environmental threats like global warming, climate change, deforestation, increasing pollution, etc and how we can reduce its impact by growing more trees. The students as well as faculty took a pledge to save their environment from various threats by planting trees in and around their surroundings.
Faculty members who were present were Dr. Neetu Kumari, Jhanvi Khanna, Dr. Shilpa Gupta, Dr. Kamani Dutta, Ritika Sambyal and Mukesh Kumar.
